The doctoral student will work within the research project "Migration policy, migrant selection and labor market outcomes in Sweden and Denmark, 1986-2017". The project is motivated by the significant immigration that has characterized countries in Western Europe in recent decades, in recent years increasingly dominated by refugee and family reunification migration.

Doctoral student in Economic History – Women in science and technology

The PhD position is linked to the research program ‘Women in science and technology: career impediments and the child penalty’ (WINST), funded by FORTE 2021-2027. The program is an international collaboration involving researchers based in Denmark, Finland and Sweden.

The aim of the program is to examine the careers of women and men in science and technology with the use of micro (register) data. Our goal is to investigate patterns in scientific and inventive careers and highlight factors that create gender differences in such paths (e.g., family background, fertility, educational choices, resources).
